Lifting Houses

Lifting a house is a job for only the specialists.  McLeod have been lifting houses for over 10 years in and around the Bay of Plenty and have a wealth of experience to ensure your lift is a success.

With houses we understand that it is a big investment and that each lift is unique and requires its own assessment. So we work with you to answer a number of questions to help us obtain the most accurate quote based on an engineered house weight.

To assist us in this and to ensure we have a thorough understanding of your lift McLeod employee a full time engineer as a member of staff. We also have over 10 years experience in calculating the weight of your house - a vital component for a successful lift.

With this information we then Quote the job to your specific requirements. You won't be disappointed in dealing with the regions experts in house lifting.

What We Ask?

House
We ask the following questions to calculate the weight of the house, lifting points and strength.
  • Dimensions of the house (including eves)
  • Location of Internal and External walls
  • Floor joist direction
  • Location of External windows and doors
  • Building materials used
  • Internal and External cladding material
Site
We ask the following questions to understand the site conditions and crane required.
  • Crane set up area (surface material and gradient)
  • Location of power lines
  • Location of any underground services
  • Location of underground services
  • Radius of lift from centre of crane to centre of house
Transport
If using a house transporter:
  • How close can the transporter get to the crane
  • Who is transporting the house
Some other things to think about are:
  • Where will the foundations be
  • Is traffic management required?
  • Will the public be affected and how?
