We had the opportunity to place some of the final touches on the TECT Arena today with only 6 days to go. The Grand Opening to the public is on the 26th of August. I managed to take a quick look and the facility is looking huge. Pictured our 170 Tonne crane dwarfed by the scale of the building as it places equipment onto the roof.
Good lifts this morning for the 170 - Maximus lifting 9.5t panels at Pukepine, Te Puke. As you can see its a big reach across the existing works which are a hive of activity with machines and conveyors passing timber around.
Graham Martin from Bay Sandblasting is lifted over 70m to paint the Container Cranes at the Port of Tauranga. This video shows him on the ride down. The little crane on the ground lifting Graham is a GMK5170 with 64m of Main boom and 18m of Fly giving a total length of 82m.

The first of six new Locomotive Engines for KiwiRail were unloaded off Tranzcarr yesterday after being shipped in by the Foresight Beluga. They weighed in at 110 Tonnes and will provide KiwiRail with 2700kW or 3619hp. Sunlive were onsite to see the unloading.
Early yesterday morning we got to load a freshly painted Chimney at Bay Sandblasting onto Rowe Motorsfor transport to Ballance Agri-Nutrients. I managed to grab a few photos as it was loaded by our 16 Tonne and 20 Tonne Cranes and then moved down the road and placed by our 170 Tonne Crane with the help of Mouats Engineering and Titan Cranes.
