Last week we had the mission to remove a bent crane boom off Nordic Visby. Below are some of the pictures we took of the work with Page Macrae Engineering.
MV Rena Recovery
On Wednesday 5 October 2011, at 2:20am as many of you are aware the MV Rena ran aground off the coast of Tauranga. Since then there has been an ongoing recovery program. Behind the scenes this has involved cranes both at sea on shore. The first of six new Locomotive Engines for KiwiRail were unloaded off Tranzcarr yesterday after being shipped in by the Foresight Beluga. They weighed in at 110 Tonnes and will provide KiwiRail with 2700kW or 3619hp. Sunlive were onsite to see the unloading.
Quick video montage of the Page and Macrae team moving newly fabricated plant onto Tranzcarr ready for transport to site.
In the pictures the two yellow cranes are our 55 Tonne Crane (GMK3050) and 80 Tonne Crane (GMK4075) and outside in blue is Maximus 170 Tonne Crane (GMK5170). Picture our GMK4075 "Awesome" with Sully at the controls works with the team from JP Marshall Engineering. In the centre picture Mike directs a new conveyor into place at Inghams and shows us that height is not a problem as he works safely over looking the Mount wharf.
Pictured our GMK5130 - a 130 Tonne Crane in blue and our GMK4075 a 80 Tonne Crane in yellow move the 24 Tonne administration office for Page & Macrae this morning.
